Ukraine will nominate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize if he manages to stop putin - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian side will nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize next year if he manages to stop russian dictator vladimir putin, bring him to the negotiating table and stop the killings.

He said this in an interview with Fox News.

"I think we will be very happy to nominate President Trump for the Nobel Prize next year if he - because only he can do this today - puts pressure on putin and stops him, if he brings putin to the table for dialogue, negotiations, if President Trump stops these killings," Zelenskyy said.

He also said that, in his opinion, a ceasefire is "sometimes not a real end to the war." However, he called the ceasefire the biggest step towards a real end to the war.

"So I think if President Trump does it this year - and we, of course, want it to happen as soon as possible, because we want to stop this war and we always support President Trump. So if he does it - I hope so, and, God willing, that he can do it - in that case, we will certainly nominate him and proudly congratulate him," the President of Ukraine summed up.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Nobel Committee awarded the 2025 Peace Prize to Maria Corina Machado, a leader of the democratic movement in Venezuela. She was honored for her "tireless struggle for citizens' rights and a peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy."

Earlier, US President Donald Trump expressed gratitude to russian dictator vladimir putin, who had criticized the Nobel Peace Prize and mentioned the American President's efforts to resolve "crises."
