The State Export-Import Bank introduced a monthly commission of UAH 500 for currency cards for deposit payments.
This was announced by Viktoria Strakhova, a member of the bank's supervisory board, on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Due to the reservation requirements, the Bank introduced a monthly commission of UAH 500 for currency cards opened for deposit payments. But in my opinion, the communication about this was not carried out in a client-oriented approach. As a member of the Supervisory Board, I do not touch on the issues of operational management of the Bank, but I believe that if the Bank makes a mistake, even a communication one, it is my responsibility and I must do everything in my power to reduce losses," she wrote.
Strakhova reported that the notification about this was on August 28 in the bank's application, but even she did not pay attention to it.
"Because it was a long time ago that I opened a card to buy foreign currency, and I forgot - because after the three-month deposit expired, I simply spent money from that card as usual. On Friday, I learned that one of the clients of the security and defense sector was planning to leave because of such behavior with the commission. While I was figuring out what the commission was - I saw it in myself. But the problem is that it is impossible to reset and close the account remotely - because it does not allow selling 0.99, and my colleagues from the combat units cannot come to the bank for obvious reasons. And UAH 500 per month for my colleagues from the security and defense sector are significant funds. Therefore, I have to apologize to clients publicly. Even if I leave a certain business segment - it would be better to leave good memories behind," added Viktoria Strakhova.
She advised clients to close a foreign currency card account in the absence of a valid deposit, if the card was opened for the payment of a foreign currency deposit.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, 100% of the shares of PJSC Ukreximbank are state-owned.
