On Sunday, October 12, Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a second phone conversation with US President Donald Trump in two days.
This was announced on the President's Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Just spoke with US President Donald Trump, for the second time in two days, and today was also a very productive conversation," Zelenskyy wrote.
During the conversation, the leaders of the countries discussed air defense, energy and long-range capabilities of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed Trump about russian strikes on Ukraine and discussed with him the possibility of strengthening Ukrainian air defense.
"Yesterday we agreed on a certain topic for today, and we went over all these aspects of the situation. Protecting life in our country, strengthening it - both in terms of air defense, and in terms of our resilience, and in terms of our long-range capability. Many details regarding energy. President Trump is well informed about everything that is happening," Zelenskyy said.
The President added that he agreed with Trump to continue the conversation and spoke about the preparation of teams for negotiations.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the authors of the influential publication Axios, citing two informed sources, stated that Trump discussed with Zelenskyy on Saturday the possibility of transferring long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. The sources did not specify whether a final decision had been made.
