As a result of the morning shelling on October 12, Donetsk Region was completely cut off from electricity supply. Russian troops again targeted energy infrastructure facilities in the region.
The head of the Donetsk regional military administration Vadym Filashkin has reported this.
"In the morning, the Russians again targeted our energy infrastructure," he said.
According to Filashkin, emergency crews are already working to restore power, but the extent of the damage and the timing of repairs are still being clarified. "Meanwhile, the region has been operating the Points of Unbreakability with heat, electricity and the Internet. I will inform you about updates additionally," he added.
Several suburban trains have been suspended or changed due to the power outage. Temporarily, trains #6602 Sloviansk - Raihorodok, #6603 Raihorodok - Sloviansk, #6705 Sloviansk - Kramatorsk and #6706 Kramatorsk - Sloviansk are not running.
Delays are also observed on the routes #6711 Yazykove - Sloviansk (by 1.5 hours) and #6809 Blyzniuky - Sloviansk (by 2 hours). Reserve diesel locomotives are being prepared for some flights.
As a reminder, on the night of October 10, russia already struck a massive blow at Ukraine's power facilities. At that time, blackouts were recorded in the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk Regions.
