Today, October 8, Moldovan government agency websites were hit by a new DDoS attack. Some services may be unavailable due to the cyberattack.
This was reported by NewsMaker with reference to the Moldovan Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service (STISC).
"In recent hours, new attempts at DDoS attacks on the state IT infrastructure have been recorded. These malicious actions are aimed at disrupting the operation of state online services and creating inconvenience for users," STISC said.
It is reported that due to the increased intensity of attacks, some services may be temporarily unavailable or operate slower than usual.
The department added that specialists continue to monitor the situation and apply protective measures to minimize the consequences of the attacks and restore the systems as soon as possible.
It is noted that the last major cyberattack on state platforms occurred on September 28, the day of the parliamentary elections. Then, according to Prime Minister Dorin Recean, about 4,000 websites stopped working.
Recall that the Moldovan party Action and Solidarity (PAS), to which Maia Sandu belongs, won the parliamentary elections in the country and received 50.03% of the vote.
