As of October 7, 2025, Ukrainian farmers sowed 3.556 million hectares with winter crops, which is 5.3% less than as of October 8, 2024 (3.8 million hectares).
This is stated in a message of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that this is almost 50% of the projected area.
Winter grain is sown in all regions of Ukraine.
In particular, winter wheat was sown on an area of 2,346,800 hectares; winter barley - on 179,200 hectares and winter rye - on 45,700 hectares.
Among the leaders in grain crops are the Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv and Poltava Regions.
Winter rapeseed was sown on 985,300 hectares, most of which was in the Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi and Mykolaiv Regions.
Currently, farmers in 13 regions have completed sowing winter rapeseed.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, as of September 30, 2025, Ukrainian farmers had sown 2.515 million hectares of winter crops.
