Ukraine receives another EUR 4 billion from EU at expense of russian frozen assets

Ukraine received a tranche of macro-financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of EUR 4 billion within the framework of the G7 Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine (ERA) mechanism. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"It is symbolic that the payment was made today, on the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The tranche is secured by proceeds from the frozen assets of the Central Bank of russia in the European Union and is an important signal for us about Europe's determination to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and provide long-term support," she noted.

In general, within the framework of the ERA instrument, Ukraine has already attracted EUR 14 billion from the EU, out of the planned EUR 18.1 billion, and it is expected that Ukraine will receive the remaining funds from the EU by the end of 2025.

The Ministry of Finance notes that the attracted funding can be directed to priority state budget expenditures in the social sphere, military and reconstruction.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in August, Ukraine received EUR 4 billion from the EU under the ERA and Ukraine Facility.
