After celebration of Rosh Hashanah, over 40,000 Hasidic pilgrims left Ukraine

Almost 40,000 Hasidic pilgrims left Ukraine in the last days after the celebration of Rosh Hashanah. This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service Andrii Demchenko on the air of the telethon.

"Regarding the departure of Hasidic pilgrims, on September 25 the passenger flow increased significantly, because at one point in a day about 25,000 Hasidic pilgrims moved to leave Ukraine. Further, their movement was not particularly recorded either on September 26 or September 27. Yesterday (September 28) a fairly large number of Hasidic pilgrims also crossed the border to leave Ukraine - more than 5,000 crossed the border to leave Ukraine during the day," Demchenko said.

He noted that since September 25, approximately almost 40,000 Hasidic pilgrims have left Ukraine.

"In fact, what we recorded at the entrance is almost 40,000 citizens, and in recent days, starting from September 25, approximately the same number has been following us outside the borders of our country," Demchenko said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Hasidim in Uman were complained about: they ignore air raid sirens during Rosh Hashanah.

Israel and Ukraine have agreed on security measures for the visit of tens of thousands of pilgrims arriving in Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah.

On August 31, The Times of Israel announced that Ukraine was going to ban this year's pilgrimage to Uman due to the worsening security situation.

On the same day, spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry Oren Marmorstein stated that there were no changes in Ukraine's policy regarding the admission of pilgrims to Uman for the celebration of Rosh Hashanah.
