From August 28 to September 19, 2025, almost 53,000 checks of male citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 22 were recorded on the Ukrainian-Polish border. Of these, about 40,000 concerned entry into Poland, and over 13,000 concerned exit from the country.
This was reported by the Polish Border Guard in response to a request from Ukrainian Pravda. Life.
At the same time, the department clarified that it was about the number of checks, and not individual persons who crossed the border.
Polish border guards did not report how many men in this age category were refused entry.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, during the week from August 28 to September 3, 6,100 young men from Ukraine entered Poland through border crossings in Subcarpathia, and about 2,000 left.
The increase in the number of young Ukrainians is explained by the relaxation of the rules for men to leave during wartime. The new rules allow young citizens of Ukraine to leave, in particular for study or a short stay abroad, while most men of draft age still have restrictions.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Border Guard Service says that the permission for men aged 18-22 to leave has not caused an increase in passenger traffic.
When asked by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak about the statistics of those who left, the State Border Guard Service stated that it does not count the number of men aged 18 to 22 who have crossed the border since the official permission was granted.
