Government allows men aged 18 to 22 to travel abroad – Svyrydenko

The government has updated the procedure for crossing the state border of Ukraine. Men aged 18 to 22 will be able to cross the border without hindrance during martial law. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel on Tuesday, August 26.

"Today, the government has updated the procedure for crossing the state border. Men aged 18 to 22 will be able to cross the border without hindrance during martial law. This applies to all citizens of the appropriate age," Svyrydenko wrote.

The Prime Minister noted that the decision to allow travel also applies to men abroad. According to her, the changes will come into effect the day after the official publication of the resolution.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to work out the possibility of simplifying border crossing for citizens under 22 years of age.

On August 18, Svyrydenko announced that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine may adopt a resolution by the end of this week that will allow men under 22 years of age to travel abroad.

As a reminder, in May of this year, Education Minister Oksen Lisovyi admitted that Ukrainians take their children abroad after they finish school.
