Ukraine asks partners to strengthen air defense – Zelenskyy

Ukraine conveyed to partners the current needs in systems and missiles that will allow shooting down air targets with which the aggressor country attacks Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Monday, September 22.

Zelenskyy noted that he had a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte before the meetings in New York at the UN General Assembly. According to him, the conversation primarily concerned protection from russian strikes.

"Ukraine conveyed to partners the current need for air defense - in systems and missiles, the presence of which can significantly influence events and limit Russia's ability to fight. We discussed with Mark the implementation of the PURL program, primarily in terms of air defense, what is needed most urgently," Zelenskyy wrote.

Rutte will communicate with other partners about Ukraine's needs.
