The violation of Estonian airspace by russian fighter jets is part of a systemic campaign by the aggressor country russia against Europe and NATO.
This opinion was expressed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, the russians are using all available tools from interference in political processes to violation of airspace.
"This is not an accident. This is a systemic Russian campaign against Europe, against NATO, against the West. And it requires a systemic response," Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized that the West must jointly respond with strong actions to russia's provocations. The aggressor country must feel strong pain from international pressure, primarily through economic sanctions.
In addition, russia's losses in the war must increase. This, Zelenskyy added, can be achieved by helping the Ukrainian army.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, today, September 19, three MiG-31 fighter jets of the russian army violated Estonian airspace. They were 12 in the sky over the country, approaching the capital.
In response, Italian F-35 fighter jets were raised into the sky. They intercepted the russian planes and forced them to leave Estonian airspace.
Also today, two russian fighter jets performed a dangerous maneuver near the oil and gas platform of the Polish company Petrobaltic in the Baltic Sea.
We also wrote that on September 13, Romania was forced to raise combat aircraft due to a russian drone that flew into the country's airspace.
