A bullet was removed from the heart of a soldier recently released from the russian captivity who defended Azovstal. He lived with it for 3 years. The director of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Borys Todurov has reported this.
"Three years in captivity with a bullet in the heart. People are titans. Invincible!" wrote Todurov and published a video shot during the operation.
In the video, Todurov showed the bullet that he pulled out of the Ukrainian soldier. He also said that the fighter defended Azovstal and was captured with a bullet in his heart. He was exchanged two months ago.
"Fortunately, the bullet did not damage anything. Now we have removed it. The guy is lucky. I think he will live a long and happy life," summed up the doctor.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Thursday, July 10, in Kyiv during a massive combined attack by the aggressor country, the russian federation, cardiac surgeon Borys Todurov and his team removed, delivered and successfully transplanted a donor heart to a child.
Also in February 2025, a unique surgery was performed at the front to save a seriously wounded Azov soldier. Then, blood was delivered directly to the position for the soldier wounded in the neck using a drone.
