In August, volume of bank loans to economy increased by 2.3% to record-breaking UAH 1,263 billion

According to the National Bank's operational data, the volume of loans issued by commercial banks to the corporate sector and individuals increased by 2.3% to UAH 1,263.808 billion in August.

This is stated in a message from the National Bank, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Since the beginning of the year, the volume of loans in the economy has increased by 14.2% from UAH 1,106.8 billion.

The volume of hryvnia loans to legal entities in the reporting month increased by 2.6% to UAH 673.363 billion.

The volume of loans issued to businesses in foreign currency increased by 1.3% to UAH 255.856 billion.

The volume of loans issued to the population increased by 2.6% to UAH 325.206 billion during the reporting period.

Interest rates in August on hryvnia loans for businesses decreased by 1.7 pp to 15.1%, and for the population increased by 0.1 pp to 36.2%.

Rates for foreign currency loans for businesses amounted to 5.9%.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, the volume of loans in the economy increased by 10.9% from UAH 997.877 billion.

In 2023, the volume of loans in the economy decreased by 1% from UAH 1,007.648 billion.

In 2022, the volume of loans in the economy decreased by 3.5% from UAH 1,044.049 billion.

In 2021, the volume of loans in the economy increased by 10% from UAH 948.386 billion to UAH 1,043.694 billion.
