During his visit to the UK, Donald Trump came under fire on social media for walking in front of King Charles during a guard of honour inspection. Some users called it an "offensive" breach of etiquette. However, etiquette does not prohibit such behavior.
This is reported by UNILAD.
Former royal servant Grant Harrold, who worked for the British monarchy for more than seven years, explained that Trump did not actually break protocol. During state visits, foreign heads of state often walk in front of monarchs, since they are the main participants in the ceremony.
Of course Trump breaking protocol once again walking in front of the king like he did with the queen…..why do these people continue to roll out the red carpet for this uncultured slob pic.twitter.com/eDyu2bzbLP

Harrold also clarified that the absence of Trump and Melania's bow or curtsy to members of the Royal Family is not a violation of the rules, because such actions are mandatory only for citizens of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries, and the bow is made to the title, and not to the King personally.
Recall that US First Lady Melania Trump was also criticized for violating royal protocol: she did not curtsy to either Princess Kate or Queen Camilla.
Meanwhile, thousands of people gathered on the streets of London for a protest against the visit of US President Donald Trump to the UK, which began on September 17. The Trumps are currently meeting with the British monarchs in Windsor.
