The funding of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in 2026 is proposed to be increased by a quarter, from UAH 3.8 billion to UAH 4.7 billion, or almost UAH 1 billion.
This is stated in the bill of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 14000 "On the State Budget for 2026", Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In 2026, they propose to allocate UAH 4,712,579,600 for the SBI. At the same time, this year, the funding of the SBI is at the level of UAH 3.8 billion. Thus, the funding of the SBI is proposed to be increased by almost UAH 1 billion, or by 23%.
The entire amount will go to support the activities of the SBI.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the funding of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau in 2026 is proposed to be increased by 16%, i.e. from UAH 2.2 to UAH 2.5 billion. The Director of the State Bureau of Investigation, Oleksii Sukhachov, earns more than the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Semen Kryvonos, on the fight against corruption. The Director of the State Bureau of Investigation earns UAH 4 million a year, but this is still less than his wife earns from electricity. The State Bureau of Investigation bought two official Yamaha motorcycles and wanted to buy two more.
