Olha Stefanishyna has assumed the duties of Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States. Stefanishyna announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"I presented copies of my credentials to Abby Jones, Principal Deputy Chief of Protocol at Blair House in Washington, DC. From this moment on, I officially begin the mission of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States," she said.
Stefanishyna noted that she will make every effort to build cooperation with American partners in order to deepen strategic dialogue and achieve a just and lasting peace.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 27, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Stefanishyna as Ambassador to the United States, replacing Oksana Markarova.
Stefanishyna held the position of Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration - Minister of Justice in the government of Denys Shmyhal.
