Air alert was declared in Romania – media

In Romania, there was a risk of falling "airspace objects" in the northern region of Tulcea County, the authorities declared an air alert. It was stated in a report by Digi24 on Saturday, September 13.

According to a Digi24 journalist, the Romanian army raised two F-16 fighter jets from the Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base to intercept the russian drone and escorted it until it disappeared from radar. It did not fly over residential areas, so it was not shot down.

"Recently, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations sent an RO-Alert message for the northern region of Tulcea County, through which citizens were informed that there is a possibility of falling objects from the airspace and called for taking protective measures. The approximate duration of the air alert is approximately 90 minutes," representatives of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said.

They remind the population that "Romania's territory is not the object of attacks by the Russian Federation." At the same time, citizens were asked to remain calm and hide in shelters or behind two walls.
