After the arrival of US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg in Kyiv, russian troops launched 40 drones over the territory of Ukraine on the night of Friday, September 11, and air defense forces managed to neutralize 33 of them.
This was announced by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of September 12 (from 10:00 pm on September 11), the enemy attacked Ukraine with 40 Shaheds, Gerbera attack UAVs and drones of other types from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all - the russian federation), more than 20 of them were Shaheds.
"According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 am, air defense systems shot down/suppressed 33 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera and other types in the north, east and center of the country," the report says.
6 strike UAVs hit 3 locations.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Kellogg previously visited Kyiv in July. The publication writes that during his visits, the russians did not resort to massive attacks on the capital. Trump's Special Envoy was jokingly nicknamed "Kyiv's air defense".
On September 7, US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Keith Kellogg said that the shelling of Ukraine by the aggressor country of russia is an aggravation of the situation, which due to such actions may get out of control.
