US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg arrived in Kyiv on an official visit on Thursday, September 11. Yahoo News and RBC-Ukraine reported this, citing an informed source.
Kellogg arrived in Kyiv a day after the aggressor country russia's drone attack on Poland, which was the first case since February 24, 2022, when a NATO country used aviation to shoot down enemy targets over its territory.
"As CNN previously reported, General Keith Kellogg was planning a trip to Poland on behalf of US President Donald Trump. From there, he planned to go to Ukraine. But when he was heading to Poland, dozens of Russian drones invaded Polish airspace on the night of September 10," the report says.
Official sources have not yet confirmed Kellogg's arrival in Kyiv. It should be noted that before that, the US President's Special Envoy visited Kyiv on Ukraine's Independence Day, August 24. Then he took part in ceremonial events, a prayer breakfast, and met with the Ukrainian leadership. In total, his visit lasted several days.
Kellogg had previously visited Kyiv in July. The publication writes that during his visits, the russians did not resort to massive attacks on the capital. Trump's Special Envoy was jokingly nicknamed the "Kyiv air defense".
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 7, US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Keith Kellogg said that the shelling of Ukraine by the aggressor country russia is an aggravation of the situation, which due to such actions may get out of control.
