As of today, September 12, a large number of russian troops are not observed at the exercises "West-2025" in Belarus. This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andrii Demchenko, during a telethon.
He also noted that a strike group of russian troops has not been formed on the territory of Belarus.
"I would like to note that we are not observing a large number of russian forces on the territory at the moment. Of course, the terrorist country sent its units, personnel and equipment to Belarus for these exercises, but their number is significantly smaller than even when russia kept about 10,000-12,000 personnel on the territory of Belarus in 2023," he said.
Demchenko stated that it takes time to transfer a large number of troops from russia to Belarus and during this time intelligence will be able to record this.
"Now the attention of society not only in Ukraine, but also in European countries is focused on these joint exercises, the active phase of which began today. However, I can reassure you: as of now (actually, the same situation was yesterday), we do not observe any activity in the direction of our border. Fortunately, no strike group has been formed before that would be ready for any actions in the direction of the Ukrainian border. However, we should not relax," he stressed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 1, CSTO exercises with the practice of nuclear scenarios started in Belarus.
At the same time, the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, warned that with the start of the russian-Belarusian exercises "West-2025" from September 12 to 16, a large-scale information pressure from russia is expected.
