During the night attack by the russian federation on September 7, the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was hit by a 9M727 cruise missile of the Iskander operational-tactical complex, and not a Shahed drone. However, it did not explode, but only caused a fire. This is evidenced by the analysis of the fragments.

The missile, which weighs 450 kg, did not explode, but fuel spilled from its tanks and caught fire.
According to the Ukrainian Air Forces Command, the enemy used nine Iskander cruise missiles in the night attack, four of which were shot down, as well as 810 drones of various types (747 of which were neutralized) and four ballistic missiles that were not shot down.
The 9M727 (or Iskander-K) missile is a ground-launched variant of the 3M-14 Kalibr and is actively used by the russian federation to strike Ukrainian cities. One of the known cases of its use is the strike on the drama theater in Chernihiv in 2023. The missile design uses Western microelectronic components of civilian production, mainly from China.
Experts note that in the event of a regular operation of the warhead, the consequences of the strike would be much more serious.
