French President Emmanuel Macron said that 26 states have agreed to provide troops to ensure a ceasefire or peace in Ukraine. He said this after a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, tagesschau writes.
According to him, this refers to the formal commitments of countries to deploy military personnel in Ukraine itself or to ensure a presence on land, sea or in the air to strengthen the security of the state after the end of the war.
Other countries are still considering the possibility of joining the initiative.
"These forces do not intend to wage war against russia. Their task is to ensure peace and send a clear strategic signal," Macron stressed.
Recall that earlier Macron said that work on security guarantees for Ukraine has been completed and now the documents are ready for political approval.
