Russia plans to drag gamers into war with Ukraine - CCD

Information has appeared in pro-Kremlin media outlets about plans to create so-called "gamers' armies" in the aggressor country of the russian federation. According to russian propagandists, "shooter enthusiasts" are supposedly able to master drone control faster - in 10 hours compared to 40 for ordinary recruits. This is stated in a report by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD).

The CCD emphasizes that such rhetoric is aimed at covertly mobilizing young people and saving on real training.

"In simplified courses for UAV operators and "cyber troops", gaming skills are presented as full-fledged combat experience. Russia replaces long-term military training with the illusion of "gaming skills", which does not correspond to the realities of war. Such approaches threaten high losses among mobilized people and increase the militarization of society," the Center adds.

They also emphasize that the gaming industry in the aggressor country is turning into a tool of state ideology and recruitment of young people.

"The scenario looks like a staged funnel: lectures on "patriotism", test simulators and contract offers," the Center summarizes.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, last month the enemy tried to put pressure on various directions of the front, sacrificing a large number of its infantry. Thus, in August, the irretrievable and sanitary losses of the personnel of the russian army amounted to 28,790 people. This is conditionally the number of more than two divisions.
