New "ceiling" for russian oil prices come into effect today – USD 47.6 per barrel

As of today, the price limit for the aggressor country russia is USD 47.6 per barrel instead of the previous USD 60.

The head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, announced this on his Telegram channel on Wednesday, September 3.

New restrictions on russian oil have come into effect today. The price "ceiling" has decreased from USD 60 to USD 47.6 per barrel.

"A new "ceiling" for Russian oil prices has come into effect today. The limit is now USD 47.6 per barrel instead of the previous USD 60. This decision was made earlier as part of the 18th package of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation," Yermak noted.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russian oil supplies have fallen to their lowest level since February.

In May 2025, russia's export revenues from hydrocarbon sales abroad fell to their lowest level since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine.

Also in May, the price of russian Urals oil fell to a new low.
