Newly appointed Deputy Internal Affairs Minister Naumenko will oversee State Border Guard Service, National Guard and aviation security - Klymenko

The newly appointed Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Serhii Naumenko, will oversee the State Border Guard Service, National Guard and aviation security. The Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Introducing the new deputy, Klymenko said that his aerial reconnaissance team, formed in the first days of the full-scale war, helped to timely detect the enemy on the approaches to Kyiv and contributed to the successful defense of the capital.

The Minister also said that despite being wounded during shelling in Rubizhne, Naumenko continued to carry out tasks, participating in battles in Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Izium, Balakliia, Kupiansk, Vuhledar, Mariinka and Bakhmut.

Now Naumenko assumes responsibility for the following areas of the Ministry of Internal Affairs:

formation and implementation of state policy in the field of protecting the state border and protecting the sovereign rights of Ukraine in its exclusive (maritime) economic zone;

coordination of the implementation of the powers of the minister in the military-political and administrative leadership of the National Guard of Ukraine;

functioning and development of a unified system of aviation security and civil protection in the activities of the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service and the National Guard.

Also in his area of ​​responsibility are improving legislation, organizing the use of aviation and unmanned units, developing flight crew training and coordinating the activities of aviation enterprises in the field of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On September 1, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Naumenko Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.

Previously, Naumenko was the director of the Aviation Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 17, the Verkhovna Rada appointed a new Cabinet of Ministers to Yuliia Svyrydenko, in particular, reappointed Klymenko as Minister of Internal Affairs.
