The death toll from the russian strike on a Ukrainian warship has risen to two, and search and rescue operations are still ongoing. This was announced by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, on a telethon.
"Unfortunately, we already have a second victim. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. Of course, we will definitely find all of our missing people, there are several of them. Several servicemen were also injured, but most of the crew has been mostly safe since yesterday," he said.
Pletenchuk did not confirm or deny information from russian media that the ship sank as a result of the strike.
"I cannot confirm this information yet. Life-saving operations are currently underway, so we cannot provide any more details," the spokesman added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense hit a small missile ship of the aggressor state of russia of project 21631 Buyan-M, a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles, in the Sea of Azov.
