Bayraktar plant in Kyiv hit by russians, two missiles hit target - Turkish media

The Bayraktar plant, built in Kyiv and ready to launch, was hit by a missile strike. The two hits on the target caused serious damage to the facility, in which millions of dollars were invested.

This was reported by Türkiye Gazetesi.

It is noted that two hits were recorded at the plant, and the production facilities suffered serious damage. The plant, which was built in wartime conditions and was to start work soon, was almost ready - key personnel had completed training, and production lines were preparing for launch.

However, the attack caused losses of millions of dollars. It is indicated that despite the previous attacks, the company persistently continued its preparations, which suffered a serious blow.

Baykar founded LLC Avia Ventures in 2019 to carry out production activities in Ukraine. Through this company, the construction of a plant that will produce Bayraktar TB2 and AKINCI unmanned aircraft continued.

The agreement on cooperation in the aviation and space industry, signed in February 2022 between the governments of Turkey and Ukraine, contributed to the implementation of the project. The agreement aims to support direct investment, simplify technology transfer, and create favorable conditions for production.

Bayraktar TB2s produced in Turkey have been actively used in Ukraine since the first days of the war in 2022.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, co-founder of the NGO Varta-1 and member of the Lviv City Council Ihor Zinkevych reported that on the night of August 28, russian troops struck the production facilities of the Turkish company Baykar in Kyiv.

In addition, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a conversation with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, mentioned the Turkish enterprise that suffered as a result of the russian attack.

Meanwhile, rescue operations have been completed at the site of the russian strike on a residential building in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district. The dismantling of the destroyed structures is ongoing. As of now, 23 people are known to have been killed at this single site of the strike, including four children.
