Rescue operations have been completed at the site of the russian strike on a residential building in Kyiv in the Darnytskyi district. The dismantling of the destroyed structures is ongoing. As of now, 23 people are known to have been killed at this single site of the strike, including four children. This was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram, according to a report by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
"The youngest girl was not even three years old. My condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. In total, the russians killed 23 people in Kyiv that night. The fate of 8 people still remains unknown. Another 53 were injured. All of them were provided with the necessary assistance," the President said.
Zelenskyy also thanked rescuers, police officers, doctors and nurses, all municipal and emergency services, everyone involved in helping people.
The President stressed that russia must be responsible for this strike, as well as for all other strikes on Ukraine, people and the world's efforts to end this war.
"When russia chooses ballistics instead of diplomacy, continues to modernize Shaheds for murders and develops interaction with subjects such as North Korea, this means that the world must react accordingly. Strong sanctions, strong pressure, strong steps are needed so that the murderers do not feel impunity," Zelenskyy reported.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of August 28, russian invaders launched a massive combined strike on Kyiv. Significant damage was recorded in 7 districts of the city.
