Overnight into Wednesday, August 27, russia attacked with 95 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - RF, Chauda - TOT of Crimea. This was reported by the Air Force of Ukraine in Telegram.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 am, air defenses shot down/suppressed 74 enemy Shahed UAVs and simulator drones of various types in the north, south and east of the country. 21 UAVs hit 9 locations.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of August 27, russian troops carried out a massive drone strike on Sumy and the surrounding areas of the Sumy community. Infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of the attack.
In Sumy, as a result of the massive attack by russian drones, all water utility facilities were cut off and are being switched to emergency backup power.
On the night of August 27, russian occupiers massively attacked the Poltava Region, damaging an energy sector enterprise - fires broke out. After the attack, there were power outages, but power supply has now been restored.
