Ukraine has received letters from our prisoners of war, who are being held by the aggressor country russia. Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported this on his Telegram channel.
"During the last return of our citizens, in particular, an exchange of letters from prisoners of war was carried out and the issue of forming the transfer of humanitarian parcels for prisoners of war and family reunification was discussed," the message says.
Recall, on August 24, Ukraine released a group of Ukrainian military and civilians from captivity. Among them are border guards, fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard.
In addition, journalist Dmytro Khyliuk and former mayor of Kherson Volodymyr Mykolaienko returned from russian captivity. Mykolaienko was kidnapped by the russian military on April 18, 2022 after threats from local collaborators. He headed Kherson from 2014 to 2020 and was a participant in the local Euromaidan.
