Resources of the aggressor country russia have spread fake news that Ukraine allegedly attacked the Kursk NPP with a drone and "created a nuclear threat." This is indicated in a statement by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD).
The CCD noted that russian propaganda has again spread manipulations around the situation at the Kursk NPP. Russia stated that a transformer unit at the NPP was allegedly on fire due to the shooting down of a Ukrainian drone.

"At the same time, the IAEA reports that it has no independent confirmation of data regarding "fires as a result of military actions." The russian federation's attempts to accuse Ukraine of allegedly carrying out targeted strikes on the Kursk NPP and manipulations around the issue of nuclear safety are typical methods of russian propaganda to discredit Ukraine and justify its own aggression," the statement says.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in March, on the eve of the US-Ukraine talks, the aggressor country russia spread a fake about Ukraine allegedly preparing a provocation at the Kursk NPP.
As a reminder, on October 3, 2024, the russians spread information about an alleged attempt to attack the Kursk NPP. The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized that this is not true.
