Ukraine denies russians' claims about attempt to attack Kursk NPP

On October 3, the russians spread information about an alleged attempted attack on the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant. Ukraine emphasized that this is not true.

Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, announced this.

"The Russians threw in false information about the attack on the Kursk NPP with HIMARS. Of course, since no one hit the NPP, there is no point in this," the report says.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation noted that the russians are showing "some kind of fire in Kurchatov", and the video also shows an explosion on the ground.

"What is the purpose of shelling the NPP? It is far away. It has nothing to do with the attack on the Kursk NPP," he summarized.

Later, he published another video from Kurchatov and added: "Thank you to the residents of Kurchatov for confirming the information about the "running out of soldiers" from the facility, which Russian propagandists falsely called the Kursk NPP."

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russian officials tried to use the visit of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Raphael Grossi to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant to falsely portray Ukraine as being at risk of a radiation incident, with the aim of undermining support for Ukraine from the West, and also divert attention from the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP.
