US restricts allies' access to information on peace talks on Ukraine - CBS News

US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has issued a directive prohibiting sharing details of peace talks between russia and Ukraine even with Washington's closest partners.

CBS News reports this with reference to several US officials.

In the memorandum dated July 20, signed by Gabbard, all materials related to the negotiations were given the NOFORN stamp - "not for foreigners". This means that analytical data cannot be transferred to the countries participating in the Five Eyes alliance (the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand).

Only information that has already been made public is allowed to be distributed, as well as materials only within the institutions that created or received them.

At the same time, the document does not limit the exchange of diplomatic channels or military information that directly relates to assistance to the Ukrainian defense forces, CBS clarifies.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 19, Trump published a post on the social network Truth Social, in which he announced the start of preparations for a meeting between Zelenskyy and putin.

The day before, the American television channel CNN published a material based on expert opinion. It states that putin is not ready to meet with Zelenskyy "neither now nor later."
