Russian army attacks Izmail with drones at night, fires break out, port infrastructure damaged

On the night of August 20, russian occupation forces attacked the port infrastructure of the Izmail District in the Odesa Region, as a result of the hits, a fuel and energy infrastructure facility was damaged, and one person was injured.

The Izmail District State Administration and the State Emergency Service announced this on the Telegram messenger, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The Izmail District State Administration reported that the russians attacked the Izmail District of the Odesa Region at night with Shahed kamikaze drones.

It is noted that despite the active work of the Air Defense Forces, there were hits.

"As a result of the attack, the port infrastructure was damaged. Fires broke out, which are being extinguished by the forces of the units of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa Region," the message says.

It is also reported that one person was injured as a result of the enemy strike, and he is receiving the necessary medical assistance.

In turn, the State Emergency Service said that as a result of the hits, a large-scale fire broke out at a fuel and energy infrastructure facility.

It has already been extinguished.

54 rescuers and 16 pieces of equipment participated in the elimination of the consequences of the russian attack.

A fire train of Ukrzaliznytsia, a fire department of the National Guard, and a local fire brigade were also involved.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the occupants attacked the Odesa Region on the night of August 8, the building of a sewage pumping station was damaged, and one person was injured as a result of the attack.

Also in the suburbs of Odesa, a powerful fire broke out at a fuel and energy infrastructure facility due to a russian attack.
