German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has called China's support for the russian military machine one of the security challenges, without which, he said, the war of the aggressor state of russia against Ukraine would be impossible.
This is reported by Spiegel.
"Without it, an aggressive war against Ukraine would be impossible," Wadephul said.
It is noted that Beijing is russia's largest supplier of so-called dual-use goods, which can be used for both civilian and military purposes, as well as the best buyer of russian oil and gas.
China also constantly openly threatens to unilaterally change the status quo in the South China and East China Seas and in the Taiwan Strait and shift borders in its favor, Wadephul criticized.
"Any escalation in this sensitive hub of international trade would have serious consequences for global security and the world economy," the publication quotes.
The German Foreign Minister is on a several-day visit to Japan and Indonesia. It is indicated that Germany and Japan are significantly expanding their partnership against the backdrop of changes in relations with the United States and China's increasingly aggressive policy.
"If we cooperate, we can overcome the serious challenges facing our countries. We are united by the realization that freedom, security and prosperity in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region are closely linked," Wadephul said during a meeting with his Japanese counterpart Takeshi Iwai in Tokyo.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Chinese government previously denied its involvement in the participation of Chinese citizens in the war of the aggressor state of russia against Ukraine and emphasized that it had warned its citizens against participating in any armed conflicts.
Meanwhile, the Chinese authorities have not responded to the evidence of the use of Chinese components in russian weapons, which was previously provided by Ukraine.
