The Norwegian government has decided to allocate almost USD 100 million to Ukraine for the purchase of imported natural gas.
This is announced in a statement by the Ministry of Energy, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Timely and systematic assistance from the Norwegian government is extremely important for ensuring Ukraine's energy security," said the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Hrynchuk. - This demonstrates the unwavering solidarity of our international partners and their readiness to assist in the implementation of energy projects and strengthening the independence of the Ukrainian energy sector."
It is noted that the funds received will be used by the Naftogaz of Ukraine group to form sufficient gas reserves on the eve of the heating season.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Naftogaz of Ukraine and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development signed a record-breaking agreement for Ukraine for the purchase of gas for EUR 500 million.
At the end of February, Norway allocated a grant to Ukraine for the purchase of gas.
