Naftogaz Group will receive a grant from Norway for gas purchase.
This is announced in the group's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The funds will be received through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The statement says that the financing is part of a larger assistance package aimed at supporting Ukraine's energy security.
In total, Norway is allocating about EUR 380 million for gas purchase, restoration of power grids, emergency generators and nuclear safety.
"In addition to weapons and ammunition, Ukraine needs support most in the energy sector. In Kyiv, people often remain without electricity. Therefore, energy support, in particular financing for gas purchase, is an important element of Norway's assistance," said Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 21, the head of Naftogaz Chumak spoke at a meeting with the IMF mission about the gas situation after the russian shelling.
At the beginning of the month, the Naftogaz group urgently purchased about 150 million cubic meters of gas in the European Union for February.
Ukraine plans to import up to 800 million cubic meters of natural gas from Europe in February and March to compensate for a 40% drop in production after missile strikes by the aggressor country of russia.
