The Defense Forces of Ukraine cleared the settlements of Hruzke, Rubizhne, Novovodiane, Petrivka, Vesele, Zolotyi Kolodiaz in the Donetsk Region. In addition, Ukrainian units advanced in the area of Yablunivka of the Sumy Region - the advance amounted to 1,000 meters.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"From August 4 to 16, as a result of joint actions of units and subdivisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine, which are part of the 1st Corps of the National Guard "Azov", the following settlements were cleared in the Donetsk Region: Hruzke, Rubizhne, Novovodiane, Petrivka, Vesele, Zolotyi Kolodiaz," the report says.
In general, as a result of active actions in the operational area of the Corps, the enemy suffered significant losses in manpower. According to data as of August 16, they are:
- irretrievable - 910 people,
- sanitary - 335 people,
- prisoners - 37 people.
The General Staff reported that the enemy lost a significant amount of equipment and weapons. During the specified period, 8 tanks of the russian occupiers, 6 armored combat vehicles, 103 units of automobile and motorcycle equipment, one MLRS, 18 guns and 91 UAVs of various types were destroyed and damaged.
Stabilization actions in the direction of the city of Dobropillia, in the Donetsk Region, continue.
Meanwhile, the occupiers continue to surrender - units of the 19th Army Corps operating in the Donetsk Region have captured 6 russian servicemen in the past day alone.
Also this week, the forces of the 7th Air Assault Corps and related units cleared the city of Pokrovsk of enemy groups and individual occupiers.
Over the past day, as a result of active operations on the North-Slobozhanshchyna axis, Ukrainian units advanced in several locations, in particular in the Yablunivka area of Sumy region, the advance was up to 1,000 meters.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Region, as a result of an operation by the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, an ammunition depot and russian invaders were destroyed, whom the aggressor state had transferred to the Zaporizhzhia Front.
Meanwhile, Zelenskyy, referring to intelligence data, predicted that in the coming days russia may increase pressure and strikes on Ukrainian positions in order to create more favorable conditions for negotiations. He assured that Ukraine will counteract this - "if necessary, then asymmetrically."
