Putin to show Trump "historical documents" about alleged artificiality of Ukraine — Center for Countering Disinformation

Russian dictator vladimir putin is preparing to show so-called "historical documents" at a meeting with US President Donald Trump in order to convince the American leader that Ukraine is allegedly an "artificial state".

The Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security Service of Ukraine reported this on Thursday, August 14.

According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, these are geographical maps showing that Ukraine is an "artificial state" formed at the expense of the territories of other countries.

By doing this, the russian dictator wants to try to convince the US president of the validity of russia's war against Ukraine and the occupation of its territories.

"Such pseudo-historical speculations are a typical technique of Russian propaganda, which Putin himself has repeatedly resorted to in public speeches," the report says.

The Center for Countering Disinformation drew attention to the fact that such an approach is unacceptable from the point of view of international law, since it enshrines the principles of territorial integrity, the inviolability of borders, and the illegality of the use of force.

In addition, most modern countries or their parts were once part of other states. For example, most of modern russia was once part of the Mongol Empire. Some of its territories at different periods of history belonged to Finland, Germany, Sweden, and a number of other countries.

"No historical facts, and even more so pseudo-historical fantasies, can be the basis for territorial claims and do not justify armed aggression against other countries," the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, tomorrow, August 15, a meeting between Trump and putin will take place in Alaska. It will be dedicated, in particular, to russia's war against Ukraine.

According to The Telegraph, Trump wants to offer putin access to Alaska's resources and easing sanctions in exchange for ending the war.

Recall that the day before, the russian dictator's advisor Dmitry Suslov voiced putin's demands for an agreement with Trump on Ukraine.
