The Cabinet of Ministers has temporarily assigned the duties of the head of the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (Asset Recovery and Management Agency, ARMA) to Yaroslava Maksymenko, deputy head of ARMA for European integration. This is stated in order No. 842 dated August 13, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that the duties of the head of the agency have been assigned to Maksymenko temporarily until the appointment of the head of ARMA in the established procedure.
In turn, on August 13, ARMA announced the appointment of 41-year-old Maksymenko as deputy head of ARMA for European integration.
Prior to her appointment to ARMA, she held the position of director of the property policy and sanctions department of the Ministry of Economy, where she coordinated the formation and implementation of sanctions policy, including the management of sanctioned assets. At the Ministry of Economy, she was also one of the developers and coordinators of the public sector corporate reform. Maksymenko also participated in the implementation of reforms in the field of transparent sales and asset management (ProZorro, ProZorro.Sales).
She received her higher education from the National Academy of the State Tax Service, a Master of Laws with a specialization in "Financial Activities of the State".
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 30, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the head of ARMA, Olena Duma.
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced that the Cabinet of Ministers is initiating a complete reboot of ARMA, and she instructed to urgently launch a new competition for the head of the agency.
On July 17, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Yuliia Svyrydenko, who held the position of First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy in the government of Denys Shmyhal, as the new Prime Minister.
