The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a proposal for amendments to the law on mobilization, which concern the rights of students and teachers.
As reported by MP Oleksii Honcharenko on his Telegram, the next step will be to register the relevant bill in the Verkhovna Rada, after which it will be considered by the parliament.
According to the initiative, the right to deferment for students will be preserved only for those who began their studies no later than a year before reaching the age limit for conscription for basic military service, are receiving education in a full-time or dual form and are studying within the regulatory period. This will apply to students of vocational, professional pre-higher education institutions and students of higher education institutions.
The deferral for scientists and teachers will apply to scientific, scientific-pedagogical and pedagogical workers who have a scientific degree or work in educational institutions or scientific institutions at a rate of at least 0.75.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to work on the possibility of simplifying border crossing for citizens under 22 years of age.
