110,000-strong group of invaders operating in Pokrovsk and Dobropillia areas — General Staff

Currently, a group of the army of the aggressor country russia, numbering over 110,000 people, is concentrated in the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia areas.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Tuesday, August 12.

The invaders are using the tactics of small sabotage or infantry groups. They are trying to infiltrate the defensive formations of the Ukrainian military.

Thus, several such groups were able to bypass the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and advance towards the settlement of Zolotyi Kolodiaz. Several more groups were able to penetrate the settlements of Vesele, Vilne, Rubizhne and Kucheriv Yar, taking advantage of the terrain.

"The situation is difficult and dynamic, but the Defense Forces are taking all necessary measures to detect and destroy enemy groups <...> Some of the groups have already been destroyed, the rest are in the process of being destroyed," the report says.

The General Staff emphasized that additional units have arrived in the above-mentioned areas. They have detected the enemy and are already having their first successes: some of the occupiers have been eliminated or captured.

What is happening in the Pokrovsk area of the Donetsk Region

Yesterday, August 11, the DeepState analytical project updated its interactive map, marking the advance of the russian army near three settlements in the Donetsk Region. In the Dobropillia area, analysts marked a 10-kilometer advance of the occupiers.

According to DeepState analysts, the russians managed to find weak points in the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and break through there, carrying out constant infantry attacks.

After that, the Dnipro operational-strategic grouping of troops confirmed the fact of the russian advance near Dobropillia, but emphasized that the penetration of small groups of occupiers is not the capture of territories.

Today, August 12, the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov" announced that its units were moved to the Pokrovsk area to counter the army of the occupiers.
