The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) was instructed to check employees of NABU, SAPO, BES and SBI who have access to state secrets within six months.
This is evidenced by the final provisions of the presidential law on strengthening the powers of NABU and SAPO, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Within six months from the date of entry into force of this law, the Security Service of Ukraine must conduct an inspection of employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, the Bureau of Economic Security, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the National Police who have access to state secrets, for committing actions in favor of the aggressor state.

The same law instructed the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (Asset Recovery and Management Agency, ARMA), the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine to intensify their work on the detection, search and return of assets obtained by criminal means from foreign countries. If necessary, within three months, together with the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, to develop and submit to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a draft amendment to the legislation.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, NABU was obliged to test its employees with a polygraph at least once every two years. Two years ago, the new head of the BES "failed" an interview for the position of NABU director. 10 years ago, the NABU director appeared in the SSU case of extorting USD 120,000 in bribes from an entrepreneur. The director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Semen Kryvonos, who heads the body that is supposed to fight corruption, was brought to criminal responsibility for voter bribery in 2009. The wife of the director of NABU, Semen Kryvonos, Halyna Polshynska, gave Hanna Tkachenko, the wife of the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, an apartment in Kyiv, and Hanna Tkachenko gave Halyna Polshynska a dacha near Kyiv.
