Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau Semen Kryvonos, who heads the body that is supposed to fight corruption, was brought to criminal liability in 2009 for bribery of voters.
This is stated in the resolution of the Holosiivskyi Court of Kyiv dated June 25, 2009, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Kryvonos was accused of committing a crime under Article 157 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - bribery of voters. The court established that Kryvonos bribed students of the Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, who were supposed to vote for the Yuliia Tymoshenko Bloc in the elections for a monetary reward. However, before the start of the trial, Kryvonos filed a petition with the court for amnesty, that is, his release from criminal liability on the grounds that he has a minor child in his care. On this basis, the defendant Kryvonos was released from criminal liability.
For committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 157 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, Kryvonos faced a sentence of up to 5 years in prison. Based on the amnesty, the criminal case against Kryvonos for voter bribery was closed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the NABU Director does not rule out that criminal cases will be opened against him and the head of the SAPO Klymenko. The National Agency on Corruption Prevention is checking NABU Director Semen Kryvonos for possible corruption.
