The russian invaders sent several sabotage and reconnaissance groups with a total of 150 people to Pokrovsk, Donetsk Region. They were supposed to infiltrate the city, provoking panic and thereby forcing units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine to leave the settlement.
The analytical project DeepState reported this on Sunday, August 10.
Three enemy groups of 50 people each set off towards Pokrovsk from the occupied city of Selidove. The journey to Pokrovsk took 14 days, as the invaders moved slowly in the hope of not being detected by the Ukrainian military.
Good coordination was established between the groups, each enemy fighter knew about the situation in his and other groups. They received communication, water and food by dropping them from UAVs.
Having reached the village of Pishchane, located a few kilometers south of Pokrovsk, the occupiers began a slow advance towards the city. It took them 10 days.

According to DeepState, out of 150 occupiers, about 30 people managed to infiltrate Pokrovsk. The rest were either killed or wounded and were forced to retreat. In recent days, the Ukrainian military has been busy identifying and eliminating enemy soldiers who broke through. It is known that some of them were captured.
"The goal of the operation was not achieved, although it brought many problems to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. It is doubtful whether a plan according to which 80% of the personnel should die on the way to the task can be considered successful," DeepState summarized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 7, the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the liquidation of the occupiers who managed to get to Pokrovsk. The military published a video showing footage of the liquidation of the enemy.
As a reminder, on August 6, the Defense Forces of Ukraine announced that the russian military leadership had instructed the army to take Pokrovsk by September 1.
