US President Donald Trump said that his personal meeting with russian president vladimir putin may take place in the near future. He stated this during a briefing at the White House.
"We decided that today we had very good talks with putin, and there is a high probability that we will be able to complete this long and continuous journey, but there is a high probability that the meeting will take place very soon. I can't tell you for sure, I was disappointed before, but we helped resolve five wars," Trump said.
He also commented on the negotiations of his special representative Witkoff in Moscow, noting that they were successful, but not yet a breakthrough.
In addition, the American President considers a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and putin to be likely.
During his speech, Trump again stated that russia's war against Ukraine has claimed the lives of thousands of people and emphasized: "If I were President, this war would not have started."
