Ukraine wants to take EUR 120 million loan from Poland to purchase artillery systems and air defense equipment

Ukraine wants to take a loan from Poland for EUR 120 million to purchase artillery systems and air defense equipment from the Polish side.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said this in an interview with the Ukrinform agency.

According to him, during a recent meeting with his Polish counterpart Radosław Sikorski, the issue of providing Ukraine with a loan to purchase some types of weapons in Poland was raised.

This is a loan of EUR 120 million. Ukraine wants to use these funds to purchase Krab self-propelled artillery installations and Piorun man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems (MANPADS).

"Poland has good traditions of manufacturing "defense" products, and we are ready to consider the possibility of purchasing them. Ukraine is interested in this, and I confirmed this once again in a conversation with Mr. Sikorski," Sybiha said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 24 of this year, the US Department of Defense announced that Washington had approved the sale of weapons to Ukraine worth a total of USD 322 million.

Recall, on July 21, it became known that Canada had allocated USD 15 million to create a center for servicing Leopard 2 tanks, previously transferred to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

We also wrote that the US would sell weapons worth USD 10 billion to NATO allies. After that, they would be transferred to Ukraine.
