President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that citizens from Asian and African countries are fighting on the side of the russian occupiers in the area of Vovchansk of the Kharkiv Region.
The head of state announced this following a visit to the Vovchansk axis.
According to Zelenskyy, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, which are holding the defense on this section of the front, record mercenaries from other countries in the enemy's ranks.
Thus, citizens of China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and some African countries are fighting against Ukraine together with the russians.
Zelenskyy said that Kyiv will react to the participation of foreign citizens in hostilities against Ukraine.
Recall that today, August 4, President Zelenskyy visited the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Vovchansk area of the Kharkiv region. He talked with commanders, met with fighters and held an award ceremony.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the end of June this year, Ukrainian military forces captured two citizens of Cameroon in the Northern Direction. They fought in one of the units of the russian army.
And in May this year, a group of Togolese citizens were captured by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. They were recruited into the russian army under fake educational programs.
