On the night of August 4, the Security Service of Ukraine launched a drone strike on the russian military airfield Saky in the temporarily occupied Crimea. As a result of the attack, one Su-30SM fighter was completely destroyed, and four more aircraft were damaged.
It was reported by the SSU press service.
According to the report, the drones hit the aviation weapons depot, which caused significant losses for the enemy. One Su-30SM was destroyed, another aircraft of this type was damaged, and three Su-24 front-line bombers were also damaged.
The SSU emphasized that the Saky airfield plays a key role in supporting russian operations in the Black Sea. The estimated cost of one Su-30SM aircraft is from USD 35 to USD 50 million, so russia suffered significant financial losses.
